Unfortunately, this type of business fraud is becoming increasingly popular. Fraudsters are getting more sophisticated by sending emails to specific HR and Accounting staff employees that appear to come from the boss and even have a nearly identical email address. These employees think they are responding to a request from their boss, but are actually handing over employee personal information or in many cases making wire transfers of large sums of money. In celebration of Indiana Members Credit Union’s 60th birthday in 2016, IMCU hosted the IMCU Gives Back Campaign awarding $6,000 to nonprofit organizations each quarter in 2016. The $24,000 went to organizations that serve Health (quarter one), Education (quarter two), Veterans (quarter three), and Homeless/Basic Needs (quarter four). IMCU highlighted the quarterly category on its website where the public voted for their favorite nominated organization. The organization that received the most votes was awarded the $6,000.
